Fishing at Founder's Lake in Heartland
It is governed by the Texas Park and Wildlife Department and the Kaufman Game Warden. A fishing license is required unless one of the below applies:
- Persons 16 or under in age.
- Persons born before September 1, 1930.
- Mentally disabled persons engaged in fishing as part of medically-approved therapy and under the supervision of medical personnel
- Mentally retarded persons (with medical proof) fishing under the supervision of a licensed fisherman
A regular freshwater fishing package costs $28.
