Yard of the Month

 

Heartland is thrilled to bring back the Yard of the Month campaign, celebrating the beauty and pride of homeownership in the community. From July through September, the Heartland Community Association will highlight residents who go the extra mile to maintain exceptional lawns and landscaping. There will be a winner for each month, one in July, in August, and in September. We encourage you to nominate a home you believe stands out with an immaculate yard. All nominated properties will be placed on a ballot for the Residential Advisory Committee to review and vote on. 
 
Winners will be announced on July 30, August 27, and September 24, and will receive a Yard of the Month yard sign along with a $150 gift card—our way of saying thank you and recognizing your outstanding effort! Winners are chosen based on the following criteria:

• Yard of the Month nominees will be judged on the total appearance of their exterior property and front yard as viewed from the street. Criteria for judging will be based on visual attractiveness, creativity, originality, beautification, and overall maintenance.  
• The property has no visible community standards violations.
• The property is one of the most aesthetically pleasing in the area.
• The front yard will only be considered and judged.

 

• Participation is free!
• Homes that have previously won Yard of the Month are not eligible to win again in future selections.
• Must have the correct shrub amount per lot size. 
• Who can You Nominate?
  • All Heartland single-family residences are eligible to be nominated for Yard of the Month. This does not include townhomes. 
  • Properties may be nominated by the property owner or another Heartland resident.
  • Yard of the Month can be awarded to tenants or owners. 
  • Properties must be located within the Heartland Community Association limits.
  • Must be a single-family house.
• Must register to nominate a Heartland residence
• Properties are eligible to receive the Yard of the Month recognition once in 12 months. This means that the same property cannot receive more than one YOTM award in the same calendar year (Not including Holiday Decoration Contests).
• Yard of the month winners are announced on the 4th Thursday of each month.
• Winners must be willing to have photos of their yard published online at the Heartland's community website, newsletter, and social media.
• Nominees may be disqualified if their property violates any Heartland community standards.
• The decisions by the Residential Advisory Committee are final.

 

• Recipients of the award receive a sign to place on the property for up to 30 days after the sign has been placed in their yard. This sign recognizes their efforts in beautifying Heartland.
• Recipients will also receive a $150 gift card.
